Hmmm. Not sure if Microsoft Word is a stand alone. I know it's part of the MS Office Package. Have to check...

Wait...Skip that...not sure if that will work....all depends on the version sis in law wrote it with. What is the exact file extension of it?

Try this Miko. Right click on file. Click on "Open with...."
See if you have wordpad maybe. Wordpad should open it.
