was wonder if either of you guys seen anything about the october updates for windows 7... I got them, and put them in, but the pc didn't start back up. had to go into the menu stuff and do a system restore before the updates were added, which worked. I just wanna know if its buggy, or errors and stuff like that before retrying, if I retry it at all. did a little bit of searching, but no luck finding anything atm

Just don't wanna screw up my good win 7 with buggy updates from windows. I got a good win 10 laptop, so hopefully they don't screw up anything else. I know turning off updates isn't a good idea, but may have no other choice. at least till this is fixed Undecided

Dang, that would have sucked to force people to upgrade. I never got that one though

Yeah i disabled that update. Im completely happy with W7 and have no desire to update to 10. As far as updates i havent updated mine in about a month as i tend to have issues with the updater for some reason.

Ive had plenty of failed updates. I ended up having to reset windows update to get it to work properly. If you know which updates it is you can try going into the update folder and deleting it then redownload.

It's the 4 updates for October. Had no problems until those came through. Had to do a system restore to get the pc back up.
May try it again later though, no biggie really since I have other virus/malware scanners, and as far as I see thats what the updates were for. Microsofts security scanner

You could try to update it from the security app itself. That might fix it. I havent even bothered with them recently since my battery quit working. Need to get a new one.

Which scanner is it? It may not even be one you need.

Its possible. I still have a bios update from 2 years ago but the current one that came with my computer is bugged and the only way to update is to downgrade first. Not worth my time lol
